The Quality Technician works to ensure high performing product by monitoring quality of purchased components, work-in-process assemblies and finished production units.

Reports to the Quality Manager III.
Ensures quality of purchased components through incoming inspection based on sampling frequencies.
Reviews of supplier inspection reports.
Performs detailed inspection of machined components using various measurement tools.
Prepares and inspects samples of welded components to ensure good weld quality.
Assists team to ensure final product testing is complete and accurate.
Assists Quality Manager in assuring that final product labeling is completed per standard.

Maintains calibration of measurement and testing tools & instruments.
Helps ensure non-conforming material are identified and stored properly; including the return of material to suppliers.
Reviews supplier PPAP paperwork and verifies supplied component PPAP samples.
Performs quality audits & inspections of in-process manufacturing steps (welding, assembly, machining, powder coating, other).
Assists in training new manufacturing personnel on component, assembly and completed unit quality standards/specifications.
IV.
Basic Metrology and use of various measurement tools.
Ability to read engineering prints and translate to quality testing protocols.
Experience with running/programming Coordinate Measuring Machines.
Experience with machined parts quality control.
Experience with MIG and TIG Welding standards.
Experience with ISO/TS or other quality system.
Eye for detail.
8.
Self-directed performer, who does not require constant supervision.
9.
Functional experience with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
V.
Education and Certifications 1.
Two year technical degree preferred.
2.
ASQ Certified Quailty Technician preferred.
3.
Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree and certification.
